Indonesia is one of the most reliable countries for finding surf to meet your specific needs. It is considered that the months between March and September are the best if you are looking for bigger waves. During this period you can find large waves if that is what you are looking for, but if you are looking for a quieter less crowded period December till February is a good for surfers who are looking for waves of lesser intensity.
You can find a wide variety of boats to suit your needs. Maybe you are looking for something romantic like the one shown in the photo, but if not there is a very wide range of vessels from high speed multi-hulls to large planing cruisers. It's best to bring everything that you that you think you may need because tackle and surf shops are not so easy to find outside the major cities, and it is best to bring spares and other maintenance gear.
The fishing is great, with a wide variety of fish to be caught, too many to mention here! Reminder: as mentioned earlier, It's best to bring everything that you that you think you may need including sufficient spares. We have malaria on some of the islands so you should take precautions against it (see your doctor before you leave home). Even so it is best to avoid getting bitten so also bring some mosquiti repellant.
Of course it is at your discression but with the warm waters it is possible swim without a wetsuit, but it is best to wear something to protect you from the sun. The sharp coral also requires some kind of footwear. Helmets are also recommended, as well as waterproof SPF of 15 or higher sunscreen.
